Turning 30 tomorrow. I'm not super gnar, so I don't feel so out of place (plenty of ordinary trail riders are 30+), but I do get jealous of this young bucks that can ride whenever and whereever they want without competing obligations.
I was kinda disappointed in the footage of Brevard...after all I've heard about it, I was expecting to see some sick swoopy singletrack that would make me eager to ride it. It just sorta looked like rutted, choppy doubletrack. Not trying to be critical, but I've just heard such good things, I was expecting it to be rad. Locals, was it just a matter of what they chose to film, or was this representative of Brevard/Asheville riding?
Great vid. Very cool to hear his story...I was beginning to think everyone but me can just take unplanned weeklong road trips whenever they want. What this video shows is the reality for most riders: riding is the burst of excitement squeezed between a job and family responsibilities, and surfing pinkbike is the closest you'll get to riding many days, even though you wish you could ride every day.
Absolutely love it. Can't wait for the North Carolina segment. By all accounts, it's got great riding, but you can't find ANY high quality videos of it (just YouTube handlebar mounts). It'll be so nice to see somewhere other than BC and Utah for a change.
This looks like an XC trail (granted, there's plenty of downhill on it). I don't understand the proliferation of motorcycle helmets in mountain biking. Sure, if you're doing totally gnarly freeride, it makes sense, but lots of guys are just flowing soft forest trails with a big Darth Vader cap on. About Us
